COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) – The Colorado Springs Chamber & Economic Development Corporation (Chamber & EDC), alongside local and state leaders, are set to announce the expansion of a technology company in the Pikes Peak Region on Wednesday afternoon.
According to a news release, Terra Ferma, a company that creates technologies for the communications industry, will be bringing a “LiFi” Manufacturing Facility. LiFi stands for Light Fidelity, which is a “wireless communication technology that uses light to transmit data, and power over the ethernet.”
According to a news release from the Colorado Springs Chamber & EDC, the company expansion is set to bring “120 new high-quality jobs” to the area. Those positions include roles in sales, engineering and warehouse positions, and are expected to have an average annual wage of $68,108.
Lieutenant Governor Dianne Primavera, El Paso County Commissioner Carrie Geitner and the company’s leadership spoke at the announcement.
