    Media Services Enhances Technology for Classrooms and Events

    LectureAt Seton Hall University, Media Services works diligently to ensure classrooms, meeting spaces, and event locations are equipped
    with reliable, up-to-date technology. From installing and maintaining classroom equipment
    to supporting major events, the team plays a vital role in keeping the University
    community connected, collaborative, and engaged.

    Supporting Teaching, Learning and Campus Events 

    Media Services helps create a seamless teaching and learning environment. Every classroom
    is equipped with standard technology, including projectors, screens, and speakers,
    and the team conducts weekly maintenance checks to ensure systems are always ready
    for use with minimal downtime.

    Beyond daily classroom support, Media Services works year-round to upgrade technology,
    introduce new features, and replace outdated equipment. This ensures faculty and students
    can focus on teaching and learning without disruption.

    Their expertise extends far beyond the classroom. From Reunion Weekend and Pirate
    Adventure to academic conferences and admissions visit days, Media Services provides
    professional audiovisual support for major University events. The team ensures every
    gathering runs smoothly and leaves a lasting impression.

    Summer Upgrades Ready Classrooms for Fall

    To prepare for the fall semester, Media Services introduced a series of technology
    upgrades across the South Orange and Interprofessional Health Sciences (IHS) campuses,
    giving faculty, staff, and students access to more reliable, modern tools.

    South Orange Campus 
    • Muscarelle Hall Refresh: Twelve classrooms received major updates, including new audiovisual systems, relocated
      ceiling-mounted hardware and modern, mobile teaching desks and podiums.
    • Surface Hub & Teams Upgrade: Twenty-five Surface Hub devices in the Walsh Library study rooms were updated to
      Windows 11 and Microsoft Teams ahead of the Windows 10 phase-out. 
    • Microsoft Teams Room Devices: Twelve classrooms were upgraded with new Teams Room devices, while twenty-three
      older rooms were converted to “Bring Your Own Meeting” (BYOM) spaces, giving users
      flexibility to connect their laptops with the room’s camera and microphone.
    • Walsh Library Digital Signage: A new digital sign was installed in the Walsh Library Rotunda to highlight campus
      announcements and events.
    IHS Campus
    • Simulation Lab Camera Upgrades: More than 100 cameras across high-use simulation labs were replaced with newer,
      more reliable models.
    • Network and Audio Enhancements: Control rooms received new switches and audio adjustments to eliminate paging lockups
      and feedback issues during simulations.
    • Skills Lab Testing: The newly created skills lab was tested and officially used for the first time this
      summer, with updates made to improve audio and video sync.

    • Submit the Media Services Event Support Request Form to request audiovisual assistance.
    • When planning an event, consult the posted Media Services schedule to confirm availability.
    • For events outside regular operating hours, contact Media Services in advance to discuss
      arrangements.

    Submitting classroom and event requests in advance ensures resources are coordinated
    and the appropriate level of support is provided.
