TEAMER connects marine energy technology teams with leading researchers and state-of-the-art testing facilities to accelerate technical validation and performance testing. Recognizing that technical readiness alone does not guarantee deployment and success, TEAMER has expanded its model to include commercialization support, ensuring that marine energy innovations have a viable pathway to market with the support of industry experts.
As one of the first designated TEAMER Commercialization Partners, Braid Theory will support marine energy teams in translating validated technologies into fundable, deployable, and scalable businesses. Services available through the TEAMER program include funding continuity and financial planning, market identification, intellectual property strategy, investor engagement, proposal and pitch development, stakeholder and community engagement, customer discovery, business model design, marketing and outreach, regulatory navigation, project management, and access to local and global industry partners.
“As one of the first Blue Power Connectors selected five years ago, we’re excited to continue supporting startups as they navigate commercialization in the marine energy sector,” said Ann Carpenter, CEO of Braid Theory. “Through this new TEAMER pathway, we’ll work alongside world-class testing facilities to help founders not only validate their technologies, but also secure the customers, capital, and partnerships needed to bring solutions to market at scale.”
Braid Theory’s commercialization support will be available to applicants in all future TEAMER Requests for Technical Support (RFTS), including RFTS 17 due February 6, 2026, and RFTS 18 due June 5, 2026. Through these calls, applicants may request up to $200,000 in TEAMER support to advance eligible technical and commercialization activities delivered through participating facilities. TEAMER is open to both US and international marine energy technology teams, with commercialization support provided through Braid Theory as a participating US-based TEAMER facility, subject to program guidelines.
