OPSWAT, vendor of critical infrastructure protection (CIP) cybersecurity solutions, announced on Tuesday that MetaDefender Bilateral Security Gateway (BSG) has achieved IEC 62443 certification. Fulfilling the global standard for securing industrial and critical infrastructure systems, such as industrial automation and control systems (IACS) and operational technology (OT) environments, marks a significant milestone for the company’s range of diodes, gateways, and file sanitization.

IEC 62443 certification validates that MetaDefender BSG meets rigorous international cybersecurity requirements for secure system architecture and operational risk management. The standard provides a comprehensive framework for implementing, maintaining, and assessing cybersecurity across industrial environments, bridging OT and information technology (IT) while aligning cybersecurity with process safety.
Organizations in highly regulated industries, including electric utilities, oil and gas, water and wastewater, manufacturing, transportation, and defense, rely on the standard to better address rising cyber threats and attacks that infiltrate control systems, work processes, countermeasures, and employees.
