State DMV offices will be closed for 4 days as new technology is rolled out

New York State Department of Motor Vehicles offices will be closed for four days as new technology updates roll out.

Starting Feb. 13 at 2 p.m., all offices, online transactions and phone services will be closed until Feb 18.

According to a spokesperson with the DMV, a lot of their current technology dates back decades.

“What hopefully you will notice is that it will be more streamlined. It will be more efficient and you will be done faster,” said Walter McClure, the director of public information at NYS Department of Motor Vehicles.
