Missouri Courts warning of fake Case.net sites that could contain malware

The Missouri Judiciary is warning users of its Case.net court record database to be wary of potentially dangerous knock-off sites.

On Wednesday, Missouri Courts issued a heads-up about at least one fake website supposedly “spoofing” Case.net, which could expose users to viruses or other malware.

The offending website – Casenetmo.us – looks like it is run by court-related personnel, but it is not.

Other websites found by Missouri Courts officials that contain the “Case.net” name, but are not official, include:

The Judiciary is warning the public that if they use any of these websites, they may encounter virus or malware warnings.

There is only one authentic Case.net, accessible from the Missouri Courts website.

Case.net provides court information and documents that are public record under Missouri Court Operating Rule 2.02, except for any confidential information, like dates of birth and victim names.
