Students explored careers in carpentry, veterinary science, culinary and other fields through interactive exhibits and meeting with industry professionals.
CUMBERLAND COUNTY, Pa. — Cyber charter students in Cumberland County were able to participate in a career day fair on Tuesday.
Reach Cyber Charter School hosted the in-person event, with professionals from the carpentry, veterinary science, culinary arts industries and more in attendance. Students were able to participate in interactive projects with industry professionals based around careers the students are interested in.
The event was part of the school’s Cyber Career Readiness Program, which school leaders say prepares students for the future.
“[It’s] super important to help our students plan for their futures and really learn about what’s out there. [We’re] teaching our students and their families that college isn’t the only option. There are so many other options out there,” said JD Smith, with Reach Cyber Charter School. “We have a tremendous need in the trades, and so we help our students see all of those opportunities as they continue their educational journey.”
Students from kindergarten through 8th grade were able to participate.
