The Saints have been granted international marketing rights to another European country

On Monday afternoon, the New Orleans Saints announced the franchise has been granted international marketing rights in Italy, the latest addition to the NFL’s Global Markets Program. This is the Saints’ second international territory within the initiative. France was given to the Saints in 2023.

The Saints are joined by the Cleveland Browns in having access to the Italian market.

“We are excited to be awarded Italy as our second NFL Global Markets Program territory,” Saints Owner Gayle Benson said, according to the announcement. “Italy’s passion for sport and its vibrant communities make this an extraordinary opportunity for our organization. We look forward to connecting the Saints brand with fans in Italy, strengthening ties between our regions and creating meaningful avenues for investment that support businesses throughout our city and state.”

Benson recently visited the Italian area, where she met with Pope Leo XIV at the Vatican on March 23.

New Orleans is the only NFL franchise with rights in France.

From March 25-27, Benson, quarterback Tyler Shough and offensive tackle Taliese Fuaga took a press trip to France to promote the team’s game in the country this upcoming season.

“The expansion of the Global Markets Program in its fifth year highlights the continued focus on global growth for the NFL and 32 teams,” NFL Managing Director and Head of International Gerrit Meier said. “The league-wide commitment to the Global Markets Program is helping to accelerate fandom of our league, clubs and players around the world, deepening our international footprint and bringing our game closer to fans globally.”
