Sony has announced it is developing PlayStation’s biggest games, Bloodborne into an R-rated animated movie. During the studio’s CinemaCon presentation, Sanford Panitch, president of Sony Pictures Entertainment Motion Picture Group has confirmed that the long-rumoured film will be “very true” to the gory spirit of Bloodborne, Variety reported.The adaption will be the company’s latest video game adaptions. Sony Pictures and PlayStation Productions are already working on screen adaptation of Nintendo’s “The Legend of Zelda” being directed by Wes Ball with Benjamin Evan Ainsworth and Bo Bragason starring as Link and Princess Zelda. Series creator Shigeru Miyamoto is producing the film. The company has also announced the adaptation of “Helldivers” which will be directed by Justin Lin.
Bloodborne video game movie adaption details
According to the Variety report, Lyrical Media, parent company of Lyrical Animation, is co-financing Bloodborne with Sony Pictures. The film will be co-produced by PlayStation Productions, Lyrical Animation and creator and gamer Seán McLoughlin. For those unaware, McLoughlin is a gamer who has spent years in the world of “Bloodborne,” with over 48 million online fans. McLoughlin is represented by CAA, Nicole Ambrose, Hansen Jacobson, and 42 West.Plot and casting details are kept tightly under wraps. Additionally, the release date of the animated movie is yet to be announced by the company.
