Trump claims this would resolve eight conflicts in eight months, a feat he claims no one else has achieved
Washington: US President Donald Trump said it would be a “big insult” to America if the Nobel Peace Prize is not awarded to him despite ending over seven global conflicts. Speaking to military leaders in Quantico on Tuesday, Trump referred to his recent plan to end the Gaza conflict, stating, “We got it, I think, settled. We’ll see. Hamas has to agree, and if they don’t, it’s going to be very tough on them. But all of the Arab nations, Muslim nations, have agreed. Israel has agreed. It’s an amazing thing. It just came together.”
Trump claimed that if his Gaza plan succeeds, it would mark the resolution of ‘eight’ conflicts in eight months, a feat he said nobody else has accomplished. Reflecting on the Nobel Prize, he stated, “Absolutely not. They’ll give it to some guy who didn’t do a damn thing. They’ll give it to a guy who wrote a book about the mind of Donald Trump and what it took to solve the war… The Nobel Prize will go to a writer, yeah, but we’ll see what happens.”
He added that while he does not personally seek the award, the country deserves recognition for these peace efforts, emphasising his expertise in deal-making as the foundation for these achievements. Trump described accomplishing eight deals as a significant honour.
