Agentic AI cyber attacks growing, along with regulatory risk | MLex | Specialist news and analysis on legal risk and regulation

Anthropic, Amazon and Meta Platforms have all learned the hard way that the cybersecurity risks posed by AI agents are no longer theoretical. Along with other companies, they’ve recently reported security breaches carried out by AI agents, and the incidents were a key topic at the annual RSA conference last week. Speakers agreed there’s a growing disconnect between how quickly agentic AI systems are being deployed and how they’re being secured. It’s also becoming clearer that when things go wrong with agentic AI, regulators and courts will likely hold the individuals or organizations that deployed them accountable.
