Fresno State affected by nationwide cyber attack

FRESNO, Calif. (FOX26) — Fresno State officials say the university has been impacted by a nationwide cybersecurity incident involving the Canvas learning management system.

According to the university, the parent company Instructure confirmed that unauthorized access to some data occurred, and that the information may include certain personal data tied to the Canvas platform.

However, officials say there is no indication that sensitive information such as passwords, birthdates, government ID numbers, or financial data was accessed

The Instructure security incident is a vendor-driven national event affecting multiple institutions.
