Kearney, Neb. — Kearney Public Schools (KPS) announced that all its technology systems have been fully restored, and school was set to resume as normal on Tuesday.
“We appreciate the patience and teamwork of our staff, students, and families as we worked through this process,” said KPS Superintendent Jason Mundorf. “We’re thankful for everyone’s cooperation and support while our technology operations team worked to ensure everything is back online safely.”
As reported by KPS, the technology network of the district was breached due to a cybersecurity incident on Friday. The KPS technology team, in collaboration with outside specialists, has been engaged in determining the origin of the attack and in restoring the affected systems. KPS will persist in providing updates to staff and families regarding the developments of the ongoing investigation as new details emerge.
