NEWS: FinCEN blocks cyber criminals from stealing almost $2 billion

By PAUL O’DONOGHUE, Senior Correspondent

FINCEN said its Rapid Response Program (RRP) has helped block more than $268 million in stolen funds since President Donald Trump returned to office in January 2025, bringing the total amount blocked to over $1.8 billion since launch.

The agency, the Treasury’s AML unit, said the programme works with U.S. law enforcement and foreign partners to help victims of cyber-enabled fraud recover funds sent abroad.
