Taylor County man charged after cyber tip links him to child abuse material uploads

A Taylor County man is facing charges after investigators say they linked him to multiple uploads of child sexual abuse material reported through a national cyber tip system.

According to court documents, Tyler Lambert is accused of knowingly possessing visual material showing an under-age child engaging in sexual conduct.

The investigation began on September 4, 2024, when the Burkburnett Police Department received a National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) CyberTip from X Corporation, formerly known as Twitter. The report included user information, an email address, and a date of birth that authorities say matched Lambert.

Detectives reviewed online messages that appeared to show Lambert expressing a sexual interest in minors.

After determining he was not connected to the City of Burkburnett, the case was transferred to the Texas Department of Public Safety’s Criminal Investigations Division.

Search warrants were executed for accounts tied to the email and IP addresses used to upload the material. Investigators say the digital evidence traced back to an address on Hickory Street in Abilene, which matched Lambert’s listed residence on his Texas driver’s license.

Authorities state that additional explicit videos involving minors were found through more cyber tips.

Lambert was booked into the Taylor County Jail on a $50,000 bond for Possession with Intent to Promote Child Pornography.
