Shimla: Chief MinisterSukhvinder Singh Sukhuon Saturday inaugurated the HIM MSME Fest–2026 at the Ridge, here. He said the festival was more than an exhibition and served as a powerful platform to create global opportunities for small entrepreneurs, artisans and start-ups in Himachal Pradesh.Sukhu said the initiative aimed to promote ‘Made in Himachal’ products worldwide under the ‘HIM’ brand, giving national and international recognition to local, rural and traditional micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) products.
He emphasised that the three-day fest would play a key role in strengthening the vision of an ‘Atmanirbhar Himachal’ by encouraging innovation, entrepreneurship and inclusive growth, particularly benefiting women entrepreneurs, artisans and start-ups.Organised by the state industries department, the festival will continue till Jan 5.The CM said representatives from reputed national and international companies were visiting the state during the fest, providing local entrepreneurs with a direct opportunity to showcase and market their products to global buyers.Sukhu also highlighted that a handmade Himachali shawl displayed at the fest was included in the Guinness Book of World Records, bringing global recognition to the state’s craftsmanship.The fest places special focus on women’s entrepreneurship, the one district one product (ODOP) initiative and the greening of the MSMEs, supporting rural economic growth and Himachal Pradesh’s goal of becoming a green energy state.Sukhu also shared that investment commitments exceeding Rs 5,000 crore were secured through memorandums of understanding (MoUs), while 683 industrial projects worth Rs 14,000 crore were approved, generating employment for nearly 32,000 people.The event, themed ‘The Craft of the Hills on the Global Stage’, is expected to be a milestone in connecting Himachal’s MSME sector with global markets, modern technologies and investments, he added.MSID:: 126323923 413 |
