Suzlon Group Launches ‘Blue Sky’ Wind Turbine Platform for Global Markets | Machine Maker – Latest Manufacturing News | Indian Manufacturing News – Latest Manufacturing News | Indian Manufacturing News

Suzlon Group has introduced its next-generation ‘Blue Sky’ wind turbine platform at the WindEurope Annual Event 2026, marking a major step in the company’s international expansion strategy. The new platform features two advanced turbine models — the S175 with a 5 MW capacity and the S163 with a 6.3 MW capacity — designed specifically for global markets, with Europe identified as the launch destination.

Developed under the company’s “Suzlon 2.0” roadmap, the Blue Sky platform is engineered to meet the operational demands of modern wind energy projects across varied site conditions. The S175 model is optimized for low wind regimes, while the S163 is intended for moderate to high wind environments, enabling project developers to maximize output based on regional wind patterns.

The platform has been designed to meet Europe’s complex regulatory requirements and diverse grid conditions, combining turbine performance with integrated digital systems and lifecycle optimization. By delivering intelligent, grid-ready solutions, Suzlon aims to support the evolving needs of the global renewable energy sector. Drawing on data and operating experience from 21.5 GW of installed wind energy capacity worldwide, the Blue Sky platform is expected to improve energy generation efficiency, increase operational reliability, and reduce the levelised cost of energy for developers and operators.

Girish Tanti, Executive Vice Chairman of Suzlon Group, stated that the launch reflects the company’s strong commitment to serving Europe’s mature wind energy market. He noted that Suzlon’s experience across multiple European markets, combined with its research and development capabilities in Germany, the Netherlands, and Denmark, has enabled the company to develop advanced turbine solutions tailored to local conditions.

The turbines are designed with tip heights of up to 250 meters, allowing developers to improve returns and optimize project economics across a broad range of sites. According to the company, these capabilities position the platform as a strong solution for both new installations and repowering projects.

Paulo Soares, President – Europe at Suzlon Group, emphasized that flexibility is central to the new platform. He stated that the Blue Sky range is built to adapt to varying wind conditions, grid requirements, and permitting frameworks, helping customers maximize asset value while meeting project-specific needs.

Headquartered in Pune, India, Suzlon Energy Limited is a leading global renewable energy solutions provider with approximately 21.5 GW of wind energy installations across 17 countries. With integrated manufacturing capabilities and international R&D centers, the company continues to expand its global footprint while delivering advanced wind energy technologies for a cleaner and more sustainable energy future.
