European Nations Intensify Sanctions on Russia’s Oil and Technology Sectors

According to the video address of Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky

European countries are working out the next steps of sanctions pressure on Russia, focusing on the oil sector, technological capabilities, and the finances of the aggressor country, as the Russian leadership shows no willingness to stop the aggression.

This was stated by the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, in an evening video address.

“Today an important meeting of sanctions coordinators from European states took place. And if Putin does not want to stop, the sanctions will not stop.”

– Volodymyr Zelensky

The priorities remain unchanged and are aimed at weakening the potential of the Russian military machine: reducing the impact on oil and gas, restricting technological import, and closing the financial and operational chains that support the aggression.

“The priorities are clear – to hit Russian oil, to hit the Russian technological component, to hit their finances, to hit their assets that power the Russian war machine. The world will help us.”

– Volodymyr Zelensky

Russia seeks to subjugate Ukraine, not expand control over territory, the president emphasized. Therefore, strengthening defense remains the main task for Ukraine and its partners, since strength on the front defines diplomatic steps and prospects for peace.
