A classical piano trio from Athens, Greece, will lead off this year’s New Music + Technology Festival at Virginia Tech.
The Galan Trio, whose members focus on premiering new compositions and collaborating with composers worldwide, will perform Monday at the university’s Creativity and Innovation District living-learning community. The presentation will include “Voces Magicae,” a new piece written by a Virginia Tech music composition professor, Charles Nichols.
The festival moves to the Cube, in the Center for the Arts at Virginia Tech, for its duration. Chicago-based Beyond This Point and Virginia Tech’s own October Sky Ensemble are among the scheduled performers.
