Delhi Metro International Ltd formed to target global markets

INDIA: Sanjay Jamuar has been appointed as the first CEO of Delhi Metro International Ltd, a company switch as been established by the capital’s metro operator with government support to bid for metro contracts in other cities and abroad.

DMIL aims to leverage DMRC’s experience in the planning, development, operation and maintenance of metro lines. DMRC has provided consultancy services for most major metro projects in India and undertaken construction work for metro projects in Mumbai, Jaipur and Patna. It has operations and maintenance contracts in Chennai, Mumbai and Patna, and is a consultant for the Dhaka Metro project in Bangladesh.

DMRC recently signed a memorandum of understanding to work with rolling stock manufacturer BEML to identify international opportunities, bid for work and undertake projects.

DMIL CEO Jamuar is a former Indian Railway Traffic Service civil service officer with experience across Indian railways, DMRC and internationally in the UK, USA, France, Middle East and Europe.
