Amnesty International: Middle East Conflicts Intensify Civilian Suffering

Amnesty International says that temporary ceasefires in the Middle East have been fragile, and that continued fighting in the region is putting the lives of millions of civilians at risk.

In a report released on Wednesday night, April 29, the organization said that ceasefires between the United States and Iran, as well as between Israel and Lebanon, have been temporary and unstable, with the risk of collapse at any moment.

The report added that military tensions and conflicts continue across the region, and civilians in countries including Iran, Lebanon, Israel, and Palestine face serious dangers.

Amnesty International emphasized that the only way to protect civilians is through a lasting and comprehensive regional ceasefire and a complete halt to hostilities.

The organization also said that without accountability and serious investigations into violations of international law, the risk of renewed violence in the region remains.
