Moscow: Washington’s desire to consolidate hegemony is cause of global conflicts

Moscow – Saba:

Mikhail Agasandyan, Director of the First Department for CIS Countries at the Russian Foreign Ministry, affirmed that the United States’ desire to consolidate its hegemony on the international stage is the root cause of current armed conflicts.

According to Sputnik News Agency, Agasandyan added on Monday: “In general, the global situation continues to deteriorate. The scope of conflict is expanding to include new countries and regions. We believe the reason for this is the desire of Western countries to maintain their dominant position on the international stage,” emphasizing that the United States is the most aggressive actor on the international stage.

Agasandian explained that the United States (under President Donald Trump) has abandoned attempts to reshape the world according to its own model, but it has not relinquished its claims to global hegemony.

In a previous statement by the Russian Foreign Ministry at an international conference in Moscow on collective security and analytical cooperation, it indicated that these policies are not limited to supporting existing conflicts, but extend to creating new hotspots of tension, considering that their effects have not yet fully appeared, but have begun to be reflected gradually in the economies of several countries.
